Congratulations to all the skaters who competed in the first two events in the 2008 USFS Basic Skills Series held at Kendall Ice Arena and Glacier Ice and Snow Arena.  The updated point standings for the first two competitions have been posted in the 2008 Results and Awards Section of the website (Click Here). 

See you next month for the "Finals" at  SkateZone, Lake Worth  which will be held on June 8, 2008 (Competition Deadline May 8, 2008).   Contact Competition Chairmen -  Jennifer and Jason Kane for information.

2008 Competition Announcement

The 2008 USFS South Florida Basic Skills Series is sponsored equally by and will be held at Kendall Ice Arena, Glacier Ice and Snow Arena and SkateZone. This is where beginning figure skaters of all ages have an incredible time learning to compete!

Event categories include Snowplow Sam to Preliminary Levels.  This year we are excited to be including the new USFS "Test Track" and "Well Balanced Program" Tracks for the Pre-Preliminary and Preliminary events. In addition, there are Spin, Showcase, Dance and Adult events! See the Competition Package below for full information.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To give Florida figure skaters a chance to develop their USFS Basic Skills in a fun competitive environment.  During the competition season figure skaters will have the chance to compete at three different arenas and earn points for a final standing.  *Trophies will be awarded to all skaters who compete in at least 2 of the 3 scheduled competitions.  *See "Series" Point System Rules.
